Twenty-seven companies from Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou, achieved significant success at the National Hardware Show (NHS), which concluded at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the United States on March 29.
Preliminary statistics show that companies from Linhai welcomed over 3,000 visits from potential buyers during the exhibition, resulting in intended transactions worth nearly $21.5 million. The NHS stands as the largest hardware and outdoor garden supplies exhibition in the US.
Compared to 2023, the number of participating companies from Linhai doubled, with a total of 136 booths covering an exhibition area of approximately 1,300 square meters. The area marks a 191-percent increase from the previous year, as reported by the local commerce authorities.
The showcased products included outdoor leisure items, metal products and garden decorations. Notably, 25 of the 27 participating companies from Linhai specialize in outdoor leisure products, a primary commodity exported from the city.
A representative from Linhai Taiji Crafts Co Ltd stated, "The NHS serves as a crucial avenue for us to expand into the American market. In addition to securing orders, maintaining existing clients, and forging new connections, we can also gain a deeper understanding of market information." The company secured $300,000 in intended orders on the first day and initiated discussions with three new high-quality clients.
To ease the financial burden on companies participating in exhibitions and to facilitate international market expansion, the Linhai government has pledged to provide an 80 percent subsidy on booth fees for companies participating in overseas exhibitions this year.
