Taizhou has been chosen as one of the 39 cities nationwide to participate in the national children-friendly city construction program, becoming one of four selected cities in Zhejiang, alongside Huzhou, Jinhua, and Yiwu.

The inclusion of Taizhou in the national initiative underscores the city's steadfast commitment to cultivating an environment that prioritizes the well-being and growth of its youngsters.

Authorities have introduced a myriad of proactive measures to promote the development of fundamental child-friendly facilities across various levels, including villages, communities, schools, hospitals, government offices, parks, venues, enterprises, neighborhoods, and business districts.

As of now, Taizhou has established 100 basic child-friendly facilities and initiated child-friendly enhancements in 33 communities and villages. Meanwhile, the city has built additional nursing facilities capable of accommodating 2,821 children, with over 50 percent of the city's public restrooms now equipped with nursing facilities.

In addition, the city has completed the construction of 300 nursing service stations, 171 parent-child study bases, 23 child-friendly zebra crossings, 30 pocket parks, and nine dedicated child-friendly bus routes.
