The Taizhou Bay New Area Airport has officially been registered as a general airport in China, as reported on the Civil Aviation Administration of China's website. The airport, with an estimated investment of approximately 650 million yuan ($90.29 million), spans an area of about 352 mu (23.47 hectares).

Featuring an 800-meter-long runway and 14 parking spaces on the apron, the airport is primarily designated for drone test flights and will offer services including emergency mapping, maritime cruises, maritime emergency treatment, and low-altitude sightseeing.

The runway, ancillary facilities, and navigational light systems have all received approval following rigorous inspections. Construction of the terminal building has commenced, with pile foundation work already finished.

Looking forward, plans are underway to finalize the bidding process for the interior decoration and outdoor supporting construction by the end of May. The overarching goal is to complete all construction activities by year's end.
