The recent triumph of a Chinese electric motor team at the 2024 Dakar Rally has proven to be a boon for Jinyuxing, a company headquartered in Taizhou, Zhejiang province.
Following the Arctic Leopard team's win in the new energy motorcycle category of the race held in Saudi Arabia, there has been an unprecedented surge in demand for the motors that powered the team's motorcycles.
These high-performance motors are the brainchild of Jinyuxing, a company dedicated to the research and development, production, and sales of electric light vehicle motors for more than two decades.
Tang Min, chief technology officer at the company, emphasized that the motors used in the Dakar Rally incorporated automotive-grade flat wire motor technology, resulting in a remarkable increase of over 60 percent in power density and torque density compared to traditional round motors. These attributes made the motors particularly well-suited for navigating the challenging terrains of deserts and gravel plains encountered in the Dakar Rally.
"The exceptional performance of the flat wire motor in this international event once again demonstrates the success of our technological innovation," remarked Tu Ronghui, vice general manager of Jinyuxing.
Over the past three years, Jinyuxing has invested over 170 million yuan ($23.67 million) in R&D, achieving significant progress in technical breakthroughs and innovative products.
The company, Tu pledged, will continue to prioritize product innovation and technical research and development, steadily advancing towards their strategic goal of becoming a "global leader in electric light vehicle motor expertise".
