In 2022, the revenue for Zhejiang's software industry reached 915.29 billion yuan ($128.06 billion), ranking fifth in the country in terms of industry scale.

According to the data from the recently released 2023 Zhejiang Software Industry Development Report by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, the profit margin of the industry's business revenue reached 24.5 percent, surpassing the national average by 12.3 percentage points and leading the country in profitability,

By the end of 2022, Zhejiang had built 96 industrial brains for segmented industries, nurtured 430 provincial-level industrial internet platforms, and cultivated 52 future factories.

Regarding the empowerment of digital rural construction through software, Zhejiang's digital agriculture and rural development level reached 68.3 percent in 2022, maintaining its first-place ranking in the country for four consecutive years.

The report shows that in 2022, among Zhejiang's software companies, there were 504 companies with a scale of over 100 million yuan, including 74 companies with a scale of over one billion yuan and 14 companies over ten billion yuan.

In the first three quarters of 2023, the software and information services industry in the province achieved an added value of 404.14 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 11.5 percent, official statistics show, driving a 6.2 percentage point increase in the added value of the core industries of the digital economy.
