Technological innovation is gaining momentum in Taizhou, as evidenced by several scientific and technological achievements presented during a conference focused on innovation held in the coastal city in East China's Zhejiang province on July 31.

These achievements include the design of large-scale turbo pump fluid-structure coupling and precision machining, as well as an intelligent spray system for strawberry cultivation in connected greenhouses.

The demonstration is a clear indication of Taizhou's growing strength in technological innovation in recent years. The city has long recognized the importance of technological innovation in achieving high-quality development and has taken various measures to attract both domestic and foreign scientific and technological resources. In addition, it has actively promoted the commercial application of scientific and technological advancements.

The number of technological achievements in Taizhou has been steadily increasing year after year. Taizhou University, the Taizhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University, and the Taizhou Research Institute of Zhejiang University of Technology alone have collectively made over 1,000 technological breakthroughs to date.

By the end of June, the city had already achieved a technology transaction volume of 14.04 billion yuan ($1.95 billion) this year, exceeding the city's annual target by 32.5 percent.

During the conference, eight technological cooperation projects between local companies and research organizations were also signed into effect, highlighting the city's commitment to collaborative innovation.
