Taizhou, known as the "Hometown of Hehe Culture", witnessed a significant milestone on July 17, as the Taizhou Research Institute of Hehe Culture was inaugurated at Taizhou University.

This remarkable event has ushered in a new era in the preservation and promotion of this invaluable cultural legacy on a global scale.

Hehe culture is considered one of three major cultures in East China's Zhejiang province, with Taizhou's Tiantai county believed to be its birthplace.

The unveiling ceremony of the research institute was attended by esteemed guests, including Lu Cairong, deputy director of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, Guo Huawei, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Social Sciences Federation, and Pan Junming, director of the publicity department of the CPC Taizhou Municipal Committee.

In recent years, Taizhou has worked tirelessly to increase the influence of Hehe culture. The city has successfully organized the Global Forum on Hehe Culture two years in a row, fostering international dialogue and cooperation in exploring the essence of this cultural phenomenon.

In addition, the city has significantly contributed to the research of Hehe culture with the completion of a high-quality provincial cultural research project centered on Hehe Culture in Tiantai Mountain.
