Electric vehicles produced in Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province were among the highlights at the 133rd China Import and Export Fair, which was held from April 15 to 19 in South China's Guangzhou city.

This year, three EV brands from the city debuted at the fair, which resumed offline exhibitions after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among them is Aima, which debuted 17 kinds of electric motorcycles and e-bikes at the event.

Sun Shuo, an employee at Aima, said significant growth was seen in booth traffic volume and deals signed when compared with the 2020 edition.

Despite each unit being priced at about 16,000 yuan ($2,325), the new electric motorcycle by Aima was well-received as two merchants from Brazil and South Korea placed orders for 6,000 units on the first day of the fair, according to Sun.

Electric motorcycles have become increasingly popular in recent years as they boast excellent performance and allow users to reduce their carbon footprint, said Sun.

As of April 18, Aima had secured 17 procurement deals from customers in 12 countries.

Besides Aima, Sozo and Today Sunshine, two other EV brands from Taizhou, have grabbed attention at the fair with their products like foldable luggage cars and electric scooters.

A total of 730 companies from Taizhou attended this year's Canton Fair and showcased nearly 10,000 kinds of products manufactured in the city.
