The Xuanmenwan national wetland park was recently listed among the first batch of Zhejiang provincial bird-watching resorts by the provincial forestry bureau.

Located in Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, the park spans 31.48 square kilometers, including 7.06 square kilometers of shallow beach and 16.7 square kilometers of water.

In 2008, the park was designated a national water conservancy scenic spot. In 2016, it was designated a national wetland park before being rated as a national 4A scenic spot in 2020.

The park has in recent years emerged as an important resting area for migratory birds. As of 2022, more than 256 species of birds, including the black-billed gull and the black-faced spoonbill, have been spotted in the park.

The marked increase in the number of migratory birds is a testament to the park's improved ecological environment, according to experts.
