Boonie Bears themed resort town to break ground in Linhai

A tourism resort town revolving around the Chinese cartoon series Boonie Bears acquired its construction permit Nov 3, which means that the project will soon break ground in Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou.
With investment of about 590 million yuan ($89 million), the town will have 30 office buildings, 14 amusement projects, two restaurants and a hotel, with combined floorage of about 210,000 square meters.
It will be the first cartoon-themed resort in China.
Boonie Bears is a popular Chinese cartoon series shown on multiple Chinese websites and television stations. The series features two bears, Briar and Bramble, who try to stop Logger Vick from destroying their forest home.
