The Street Vendor Art Festival was held in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on June 23 to support the development of the local street stall economy, according to local media reports.

The art festival, sponsored by the Taizhou Cultural Center, integrates fine arts into street vending, enabling local residents experience art in a more down-to-earth way.

A large number of folk artists appeared at the festival to demonstrate their unique skills, which included glass engraving, embroidery, paper cutting, and brush making.

Yang Jibing, a paper-cutting artist from Jiaojiang district, taught his craft to young children.

"Quite a few children are interested in paper cutting," said Yang, "so I demonstrated how to cut simple butterflies and fish from a piece of paper."

He expressed hope that more similar activities will be held in Taizhou to familiarize local residents with the city's outstanding intangible cultural heritages.
