A seminar on the inheritance and development of the Hehe culture of Tiantai Mountain was held at the Hehe Culture Park in Tiantai county, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, Nov 2 to 4, in order to further protect the legend of two immortals of Hehe, Han Shan and Shi De, and to promote local Hehe culture.
The event was organized by the People's Government of Tiantai county and the Society for the Promotion of Zhejiang Folk Culture, and attended by more than 30 people, including leaders and scholars from local culture authorities in Taizhou and Tiantai county.
As one of influential folk tales among Tiantai county locals, the legend of Han Shan and Shi De is a work of oral literature about the friendship between Han Shan, a hermit poet of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and Shi De, a monk at Guoqing Temple.
