Quzhou's GDP jumps 6.3% in Q1 of 2025
Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province posted a 6.3 percent year-on-year increase in GDP for the first quarter of 2025, reaching 54.75 billion yuan ($7.51 billion), according to the Quzhou municipal statistics bureau.
In the first quarter, the primary sector's added value rose by 4.0 percent to 1.44 billion yuan. The secondary sector saw a 6.4 percent increase, totaling 21.77 billion yuan, while the tertiary sector grew by 6.3 percent, reaching 31.54 billion yuan.
Among the city's 33 major industrial categories, 23 reported positive growth. In particular, key industries such as non-ferrous metals smelting and rolling, automotive manufacturing, food production, and computers, communications and other electronics equipment manufacturing saw significant growth rates of 45.9 percent, 40.5 percent, 38.0 percent, and 26.5 percent, respectively.
Total retail sales of consumer goods in Quzhou in the period reached 23.39 billion yuan, representing a 4.8 percent increase on the previous corresponding period and a 4.7 percentage point rise from January-February.
Quzhou's general public budget revenue increased by 4.8 percent in the period to 7.52 billion yuan, with public budget expenditure up by 5.5 percent.
In the first quarter, urban residents' per capita disposable income rose by 5.5 percent to 21,033 yuan, while rural residents saw a 6.6 percent increase to 10,055 yuan.
