First stores boost consumption in Quzhou
Canadian coffee brand Tims opened its first store in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, on Dec 7, providing locals with another option to quench their thirst.
As of October this year, 70 percent of the stores in Quzhou's newly opened commercial complexes are first stores in the region.
"We chose Quzhou because we have great confidence in the city's consumption capacity, customer flow, and the sincerity of its first store recruitment efforts," said a representative from Grandma's Home Restaurant Group Co. As a leading Hangzhou cuisine brand, Grandma's Home opened its first 300-square-meter store in Quzhou to rave reviews.
As the first high-end outdoor sports fashion brand store in Quzhou, the FILA V6 image store in the Quzhou Dongfang Shopping Mall in Kecheng district has achieved over 1.6 million yuan ($220,092) in revenue within two months, a 40 percent increase compared to regular FILA stores.
"The first stores represent a good start, but retaining consumers requires quality products. The demonstration effect of the brands and their continuous R&D capabilities are crucial factors," said Jiang Jianling, deputy director of the commerce bureau of Quzhou.
The first stores also include concept stores, experience stores, and flagship stores opened by traditional stores through innovative transformation, according to Jiang.
