Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, is a key production hub for badminton equipment in China, accounting for nearly two-thirds of the country's total badminton output.

Currently, Jiangshan is home to 55 badminton production and related companies, employing over 20,000 people, with sales networks spanning the entire nation.

Over the past 20 years, Jiangshan's badminton products have gradually moved from low-end to mid- and high-end markets, expanding their reach to countries like South Korea, Japan, India, and Vietnam.

The quality of badminton products is primarily judged by their flight stability and durability. In recent years, local companies have significantly increased their investment in technology and equipment to enhance product quality.

Following the Hangzhou Asian Games, particularly with China's mixed doubles team winning gold at the Paris Olympics, there has been a surge in interest in badminton, which has further fueled the growth of Jiangshan's badminton industry.

At Hangyu Sports Goods Co, more than 20 automated production lines are in full operation, producing over 60 types of shuttlecocks, up from just five types previously.

A company representative mentioned that their investment in smart manufacturing equipment has increased the pass rate for their shuttlecocks from 75 percent with manual production to 95 percent with automation.
