Old houses in Quzhou revive
Old houses on Xikou old street in Xikou town, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province have recently become popular destinations after being renovated, according to local media reports.
In 2017, Xikou town started renovations on the old post office, Huang's residence, ancient buildings and shops along Xikou old street and built them into a complex to boost rural vitalization.
Jiang Peng, an e-commerce operator from Longyou county and head of "a box of hometown", a brand of agricultural products, came to Xikou town with his team in May 2018 and took over the operation of the complex.
After being renovated, the complex, made up of five old houses, has become a tourist center, receiving more than 60,000 visitors a year.

An ancient building along the street has been transformed into a display and sales area for agricultural products, where a variety of bamboo products and handicrafts are displayed.
Last year, the online and offline sales of Jiang's agricultural products reached 12 million yuan ($1.77 million). From January to July this year, the figure exceeded 8 million yuan.
In addition, a temple on the street has been turned into a bookstore, attracting many tourists. The bookstore now has more than 3,000 books, and most of the visitors who come to borrow books during the summer holiday are college and high school students.
