Quzhou's foreign trade up 55.7% in June
Quzhou's imports and exports totaled 6.66 billion yuan ($985.97 million) in June, a year-on-year growth of 55.7 percent and the highest growth rate in Zhejiang province, according to Quzhou Customs.
In June, the city's exports expanded 47.3 percent year-on-year to 4.13 billion yuan, the second highest growth rate in the province, while imports amounted to 2.53 billion yuan, a surge of 71.7 percent year-on-year and the second highest growth rate in the province.
The city's exports to South Korea, the United States and the European Union respectively exceeded 2.5 billion yuan each from January to June, all achieving double-digit growth.
ASEAN became the city's largest source of imports with a value of 2.61 billion yuan, soaring 299.1 percent and increasing the city's import growth by 23.9 percentage points.
In the first half of this year, the city's processing trade imports and exports were valued at 2.6 billion yuan, up 31.9 percent. Specifically, the value of exports surged 82.9 percent to 2.15 billion yuan, the highest growth rate in the province.
During this period, imports and exports of private enterprises in the city hit 22 billion yuan, an increase of 21.6 percent year-on-year and accounting for 80.8 percent of the city's total. Exports reached 14.23 billion yuan, up 31.7 percent, while imports reached 7.77 billion yuan, an uptick of 6.7 percent.
Meanwhile, imports and exports of foreign-funded enterprises totaled 3.83 billion yuan, rising 56.6 percent.
