Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province won the bid to host the 2022 National Athletics Championships, according to the Chinese Athletics Association.

This is the first time since the establishment of Quzhou that the city to host the high-level competitive sports event and the second time the province to host the event.

The 2022 National Athletics Championships will be hosted by the Chinese Athletics Association, Sports Bureau of Zhejiang Province and Quzhou Municipal People's Government.

The competition is scheduled to be held at the Quzhou Sports Center from Sept 16 to 18. A total of 33 teams comprising more than 1,000 athletes from all over China will take part in the competition.

CCTV-5, the State-owned broadcaster's sports channel, will broadcast the competition via live stream.

Under the leadership of the CPC Quzhou Municipal Committee and the Quzhou Municipal People's Government, the preparatory work of the competition is underway.
