Experience intangible culture in Quzhou
The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently released 16 intangible cultural heritage-themed travel routes, including one in Kecheng district, Quzhou.
The itinerary for the Kecheng route is as follows: Yancun village in Hangbu town - Yudong village in Gouxi township - Wanyao village in Gouxi township - Mapeng village in Shiliang Town - Miaoyuan village in Jiuhua township.
Yancun village in Hangbu town was designated as a hometown of opera in Zhejiang province, where tourists can admire performances of Quzhou Gaoqiang opera and Wu opera.

Yudong village has become the province's first future village featuring farmer paintings, while the China Village Art Museum in the village is also worth a visit. Tourists can also visit the intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall featuring bamboo weaving.

Wanyao village boasts a long history of ceramic culture. Tourists can visit and admire interesting wall paintings and ceramics.
Mapeng village is a famous wushu (martial arts) village with a history of more than 300 years where visitors can feel the charm of martial arts.
Miaoyuan village is a good place to learn about the traditional culture of the Start of Spring, one of the Chinese 24 Solar Terms. It is the only village in the world which still practices the traditional sacrificial offering ceremony for Gou Mang.
