The predecessor of the shop was a movable type printing workshop. But unfortunately, with the development of printing equipment, wooden movable type printing gradually went out of use.

Wooden movable type printing is one of the world's oldest printing techniques, and it is included in the list of intangible cultural heritage items in need of urgent protection released by UNESCO.

In the shop, visitors can experience the entire printing process themselves.

As the characters printed by movable type printing have a three-dimensional effect and have a strong artistic vibe, wooden movable type printing is very popular among tourists.

According to Li Lianqin, owner of the shop, visitors include primary and secondary school students who study traditional Chinese culture, tourists from other places, and some elderly passersby.

It's such a novelty to experience the traditional Chinese printing technique for the first time, said Ms. Chen, a tourist from Jinhua.
