​Quzhou's foreign trade surpasses 11b yuan in Q1

The imports and exports of Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province totaled 11.57 billion yuan ($1.73 billion) in the first quarter of 2022, an increase of 19.1 percent year-on-year, according to Quzhou Customs.

The city's export value expanded 28.2 percent year-on-year to 7.82 billion yuan, while the import value was 3.75 billion yuan, an uptick of 3.6 percent.

In the first quarter, the imports and exports of mechanical and electrical products in the city amounted to 2.6 billion yuan, up 37.2 percent, while the imports and exports of high-tech products stood at 990 million yuan, an increase of 85.9 percent, 40.9 percentage points higher than the provincial average.

The city's top four trading partners were ASEAN, European Union, South Korea and the United States. Its trading volume with these economies was 1.54 billion yuan, 1.47 billion yuan, 1.36 billion yuan and 1.33 billion yuan respectively, up 76.6 percent, 40.8 percent, 23.1 percent and 14.5 percent. Trade with these four partners accounted for 49.2 percent of the city's total.

During this period, the imports and exports of private enterprises were valued at 9.1 billion yuan, up 14 percent and accounting for 78.7 percent of the city's total. Meanwhile, the trade volume of foreign-funded enterprises in the city was 1.9 billion yuan, rising 63.6 percent. Specifically, exports increased by 103.8 percent.
