Quzhou releases government report
Quzhou's gross domestic product (GDP) increased from 123 billion yuan ($18.58 billion) in 2017 to 187.6 billion yuan in 2021, according to a government report delivered by Acting Mayor Xu Zhangyan at the first session of the 8th Quzhou Municipal People's Congress on April 26.
Over the past five years, the city's total fiscal revenue rose from 15.5 billion yuan to 27.2 billion yuan.
In the same period, a total of 68,000 jobs were created in urban and rural areas, while the incomes of urban and rural residents increased by 10.7 percent and 11.3 percent, respectively.
The government also unveiled a string of development goals for the next five-year period during the session.
The city has set its GDP target at 280 billion yuan for 2026, its fiscal revenue target at 40 billion yuan, and its target output for industrial enterprises above designated size at over 500 billion yuan.
In addition, the goals state that incomes of urban and rural residents should exceed 90 percent of the provincial average.
This year, the government will issue policies to foster key commercial enterprises, promote the consumption of new energy vehicles, and revive the tourism market.
