Zhejiang releases latest data on digital economy
The Zhejiang Bureau of Statistics recently published data related to the province's digital economy development.
The latest digital economy performance rankings for the 11 Zhejiang cities at or above prefecture level are sequentially Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Wenzhou, Ningbo, Huzhou, Shaoxing, Jinhua, Quzhou, Taizhou, Zhoushan, and Lishui.
In Zhejiang, 91 percent of households have fiber-optic broadband access with an average transmission speed of 201.3 Mbps. On average, there are 5.5 mobile phone base stations for each square kilometer, and 23.8 5G service subscribers for every 100 residents.
In Zhejiang's industries that are centered on the digital economy, research and development expenses account for 2.2 percent of operating revenue, while the value-add makes up 10.9 percent of the province's gross domestic product.
For every 100 employees of Zhejiang-based enterprises, 2.4 individuals specialize in information technology, while 46.7 percent of the enterprises have applied digital technologies into their manufacturing and management processes.
Annual e-commerce sales per capita stand at 18,745 yuan ($2,941).
Internet shopping value makes up 84.9 percent of consumer goods sales.
Each Zhejiang resident completes an average of 177.6 payments through mobile phones each year.
