The city of Quzhou, located in the western part of East China's Zhejiang province in the upper reaches of the Qiantang River, is considered as the core area of what is known as the "Big Garden" project in Zhejiang.
Moreover, it has been awarded the titles of "National Ecological Demonstration Zone", "National Forest City" and "National Garden City".
A list of Zhejiang's first group of big garden demonstration counties was recently released. Eight counties and county-level cities were on the list – with Kaihua county, administered by Quzhou city, making the cut.
"Innovation, openness and vitality are the core elements of the construction of a Big Garden demonstration county," said Wu Zhaosheng, director of the development and reform bureau of Kaihua County.
Wu added that in the process of establishing itself as a Big Garden demonstration county, Kaihua had adhered to the "reform + opening up" strategy, so that the vitality of its innovation continued apace.
