Holiday tourism highlights leisure trend in Quzhou

Quzhou city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – received more than 1.2 million tourists during the recent National Day holiday, up 4.2 percent year-on-year, realizing total tourism revenue of 1.14 billion yuan ($176.68 million), according to big data analysis.
During the Oct 1-7 break, the number of rural tourists received by the rural areas administered by Quzhou was 806,000, accounting for 67 percent of the city's total visitors.
Officials said that the proportion of leisure vacations and sightseeing was 3:1 and the top four areas of tourist spending per capita were catering, accommodation, shopping and sightseeing.
The occupancy rate of the city's high-end homestays reached more than 95 percent during the National Day holiday. Homestays were not only a place for tourists to spend their break, but also proved to be a core attraction for the city's rural tourism.
