The green transformation of Quzhou city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – is reportedly moving apace, in a program that is actively helping to rejuvenate the region.
The city began the environmental remediation of the area north of the Qujiang Bridge, covering an area of 25.3 hectares, with a total outlay of 5.6 million yuan ($870,000) in January 2020.
In May 2020, the landscaping involved the planting of trees, shrubs, grass and flowers, as well as the construction of infrastructure construction – including parking lots, street lighting and public toilets – according to local media reports.
In addition, at the end of July 2021, Quzhou upgraded a 35.3 hectare area on the north side of Yanjiadu Island – a park near the Qujiang Bridge – to include new attractions such as Confucius flower fields and camping areas. As a result, the area has become a precinct for locals to visit and rest.
