The city of Quzhou – situated in East China's Zhejiang province – is reportedly well on the way to making significant progress in its bid to become a pilot demonstration zone for common prosperity, according to local media reports in early September.

That's partly thanks to people like Huang Weibing, who graduated from the Shanghai Business School. Huang bid farewell to the bustling city life in order to return to his hometown in the Qujiang district of Quzhou in 2015, leasing 32,000 square meters of wasteland and focusing on becoming a good farmer.  

In 2017, Huang entered Zhejiang A&F University for further studies. As far as he was concerned, only by mastering the latest in information and technology can farmers thrive in modern and dynamic agricultural markets.

In September, rice planted by Huang's family yielded 550 kilograms per mu, with an added value of about 1,000 yuan ($155) per ton of rice after upgraded rice processing.
