On Aug 30, the Ningbo Administration of Cultural Relics was unveiled in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, signifying that all 11 of the province's cities at or above prefecture-level now has its own cultural relic administration.

All county-level regions in the province will establish such a government organization by the end of October.

Before July, only seven prefecture-level cities and 15 county-level regions in Zhejiang had a cultural relic administration. Moreover, these organizations were too understaffed to handle all necessary assignments for cultural relic protection.

To address the issue, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Zhejiang Administration of Cultural Relics accelerated the establishment of such organizations across the province in late July.
