Quzhou city, located in East China's Zhejiang province, kicked off its COVID-19 vaccination campaign for teens aged 15-17 on Aug 1.

It is estimated that the target number of vaccinations for the young population aged 12-17 in the city is 130,000.

As of Aug 10, a total of 60,000 jabs had been given and 46.3 percent of the task had been completed. That progressive rate currently ranks it second in the rollout for young people in Zhejiang.

Parents or guardians are required to read consent forms thoroughly and sign their informed consent before the vaccination and accompany their charges on-site while they get their shot.

The advice for COVID-19 vaccination for people aged 15-17 is the same as for adults.

In the 24 hours after being vaccinated, people should keep the skin of the inoculation area clean and avoid scratching it.
