Wuju opera
Jinhua and Quzhou cities were the location of local government during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and enjoyed a prosperous culture and economy. Local celebrities and businessmen funded theatrical troupes and thus formed Wuju opera based on the local language, pronunciation, music and customs.
The opera, containing six tunes, is popular in Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Fujian provinces. With its special facial makeups, costumes, and stage properties, it has high value in art and history.
