Jin Qiankai is a young photographer from Ningbo, Zhejiang province, who has captured over 100 heartwarming moments of ordinary people, documenting their stories through his lens, according to Ningbo Daily.
Jin began this journey after a deeply moving encounter in 2019. Armed with his first camera, Jin was casually photographing around his neighborhood when he noticed an older security guard sitting alone, looking a bit lonely. Jin approached him, took his picture, and later showed him the photograph.
"It was the first high-definition portrait of his life," Jin said, "And he even said it could be used for his obituary."
This interaction sparked a desire in Jin to photograph 100 ordinary people, not for fame or fortune, but to capture the essence of life's simplicity and warmth.
His journey is not just about photography; it is also about understanding and connecting with people.
"Many are busy, yet still love life," Jin said, "Their spirits inspire me, and I want to capture these fleeting, beautiful moments."
In addition to portraits, Jin also documents disappearing landmarks, such as old villages and communities facing demolition. His social media is filled with heartfelt stories and images that resonate deeply.
"Most people don't notice these small moments, but to me, those brief encounters are enough," he added.
