Hong Kong-Macao experts weigh in on Ningbo's growth potential
On Jan 6, a delegation from Hong Kong and Macao visited Ningbo, Zhejiang province, to explore its technological and economic developments, offering valuable recommendations for its future progress.
The visit, which took place a day before the opening of the 4th Session of the 16th Ningbo Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, provided the group with the opportunity to reconnect with their homeland and witness the city's dynamic transformation. Many members had strong ties to the area and were excited to see the impressive growth and changes in Ningbo.
During the visit, the delegation toured Soundking Group Co Ltd and Ningbo Shenglong Group Co Ltd, two leading companies in their industries.
At Soundking, which has accumulated more than 400 patents over 30 years, the group was introduced to innovative products, such as the digital sound mixing console and immersive sound processing technology, which filled an unmet need for the domestic market.
The delegation then visited Shenglong, a global leader in automotive power systems, where they were impressed by its 324 patents, including 83 invention patents. Shenglong's innovative approach to automotive components has positioned it as a key player in the international supply chain.
In addition to exploring technological advancements, the delegation shared suggestions for Ningbo's future.
Kang Chengliang, honorary chairman of the Macao Ningbo Friendship Association, recommended strengthening collaborations with foreign consuls in Shanghai, proposing activities to encourage exchanges between foreign consuls and local entrepreneurs to expand Ningbo's international business ties.
Dai Weimin, president of the Hong Kong Ninghai Association, suggested Ningbo promote a combination of outdoor activities and cultural entertainment to attract more tourists, with tailored packages offering both daytime outdoor experiences and evening cultural performances.
