In the picturesque town of Zeya, located in Wenzhou's Ouhai district, women are driving economic and cultural revitalization through innovative "common prosperity workshops".
The "Zhishan Chef Women" initiative empowers local women to boost their incomes while showcasing "mom's flavors" — traditional homemade delicacies that have become a magnet for tourists and a catalyst for rural development.
Recently, the workshop hosted a bustling marketplace offering farm-to-table products and culinary experiences, blending rural charm with economic opportunity. Visitors flocked to the "mom's flavors" stalls, purchasing artisanal goods that spotlight the area's agricultural heritage.
Supported by the Ouhai district government, these marketplaces are organized around festivals and weekends, combining open-air events with hands-on workshops. The "Zhishan Chef Women" project has helped participating women increase their annual income while also adding value to Zeya's tourism offerings and creating a new sales channel for local farm products.
Ouhai district plans to expand this success by leveraging cultural tourism resources, fostering partnerships between villages and enterprises, and introducing new industries.
