Zhejiang's export-oriented enterprises have been facing an increasing number of international commercial disputes, leading to a growing demand for commercial mediation services.
The Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade has been extending its commercial mediation services to grassroots levels and covering more enterprises.
Zhejiang has established 13 mediation institutions across the province and set up 97 mediation liaison points in key foreign trade counties, industrial parks, and industry associations. Zhejiang has become the first province in the country to achieve full coverage of mediation institutions at the prefecture level.
A team of over 200 mediators, combining full-time and part-time professionals, has been formed to provide effective mediation services. By focusing on international commercial mediation, Zhejiang has been solving practical issues and difficulties for enterprises.
Leveraging 58 overseas liaison offices and 184 friendly business associations, Zhejiang has established a joint mediation mechanism to offer legal services such as legal fact-finding, restoring contact with lost parties, and resolving disputes for both domestic and international parties.
Over the past three years, more than 1,100 international commercial disputes involving over 80 countries and regions have been successfully resolved.
