Damin village in Pan'an county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, welcomed 30 Rwandan students from Jinhua Polytechnic Waikato International College on Nov 21.

Damin village, with a history spanning 1,170 years, is a treasure trove of ancient architecture and cultural relics. The students visited various cultural sites, including a calligraphy and painting museum, the Palace Lantern Museum, and the ancient structure Qingdetang, immersing themselves in the village's profound cultural legacy.

At the village's cultural auditorium, the students were captivated by a traditional dance performance called "Turtle Serving Tea". The performer mimicked turtle movements, executing complex flips and spins while balancing a cup of tea on a tray without spilling a drop, which aroused thunderous applause.

In a bamboo weaving class, master craftsman Yang Yinshi, with 58 years of experience, explained the history, materials, and techniques of bamboo weaving. Under his guidance, the students eagerly tried their hands at this traditional craft, gaining a deeper appreciation for the art form.

Ishimwe Erasme, one of the Rwandan students, said, "I love Chinese folk activities, and this study tour has allowed me to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture in a way I never have before. It's truly fascinating!"
