The 2024 Global Future Design Awards has recently awarded the Jiaxing Fashion Sports Center with the prestigious Gold Award for the Sports Architecture (Concept) category.

Established by APR in 2016, the GFDA honors exceptional designs in architecture, interior design, and product design. It is one of the most esteemed awards worldwide, highlighting advancements in technology, materials, aesthetics, and spatial layouts. APR is a leading global architecture news agency and collaborates with media partners like Interior World and the Architecture Design Forum.

Located in Jiaxing Economic Development Zone, the Jiaxing Fashion Sports Center began construction on Nov 18, 2023, and is expected to be completed by August 2025.

The 72,000-square-meter center features four floors aboveground and two underground. It includes a competition-grade badminton court, 16 badminton training courts, a swimming pool, a fenced soccer field, and commercial facilities.

The center was designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Zhejiang University Co Ltd, with the center's architectural appearance resembling "silk", echoing Jiaxing's cultural identity as a "land of fish and rice, city of silk".

Aiming to break the mold of single-function sports buildings, the Jiaxing Fashion Sports Center will be a multifunctional area for sports, fashion, leisure, and exhibitions, and is poised to become a new cultural landmark in Jiaxing.
