Taizhou Xiongda Agricultural Products Co in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, shipped 1,188 boxes of broccoli to Malaysia on Nov 21, marking the start of Zhejiang's peak broccoli export season.

"This is our first export batch. The next four months will be busy, with the peak period in January," explained Zhou Wen, the company's deputy general manager.

Zhou noted that favorable weather conditions have boosted broccoli yields by 20 percent this year and increased their quality, increasing farmers' incomes. A total of 1,800 metric tons of broccoli is expected to be exported this year, surpassing last year's total.

The company's broccoli is already exported to countries including South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

To support local agricultural exports, Taizhou Customs has enhanced the management of planting bases, monitoring planting varieties and area changes, and ensuring the scientific and safe use of pesticides.

Taizhou Customs has also established a green channel for the inspection of broccoli exports and promoted online issuance of inspection and quarantine certificates, significantly speeding up the export process.
