Cycling around the Qiandao Lake
This story follows an American girl named Yang Lizi as she cycles around Qiandao Lake, documenting her journey and reflections along the way. Tracing the road-cycling route of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, she delights in the stunning scenery, appreciates the cultural richness, and marvels at the unique landscapes of Qiandao Lake. Through this experience, she connects with the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets."
Yang Lizi, originally from the United States, earned her bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Virginia Tech. In 2015, she pursued a master’s degree in Environmental Science at Nanjing University. She now works for the environmental organization Green Zhejiang. Twenty years ago, Xin Hao, her director, launched the "Millennium Environmental Protection Century Tour," a 2,000-kilometer cycling expedition across Zhejiang focused on environmental exploration. This initiative led to the founding of Green Zhejiang.
Now, on the 20th anniversary of the Double Eight Strategy, Yang Lizi retraces this significant route, witnessing Zhejiang's impressive environmental transformation.
