Huzhou's GDP grows by 6.1% in first three quarters

Huzhou, Zhejiang province, released its economic report for the first three quarters of the year on Oct 26, showing robust growth. Its GDP reached 301.03 billion yuan ($42.14 billion), a 6.1 percent increase year-on-year, exceeding the national and provincial growth rates by 1.3 and 0.7 percentage points.

Total output in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries grew by 4.5 percent, reaching 19.23 billion yuan, outperforming the national and provincial averages by 0.8 percentage points.

Industries above designated size achieved an added value of 98.85 billion yuan, growing by 8.1 percent year-on-year, with key sectors like high-tech and equipment manufacturing seeing significant growth.

The service industry's added value reached 140.82 billion yuan, growing by 5.1 percent year-on-year and contributing 2.4 percentage points to GDP growth. Growth was particularly notable in information technology services and transportation.

Per capita disposable income for all residents rose to 51,784 yuan, with urban and rural residents both experiencing increases, narrowing the urban-rural income gap to 1.496:1.
