The Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics hosted the 7th Central Asian Economic and Social Research Forum, alongside an international symposium on Central Asia studies, on Oct 19.

The event brought together scholars and experts to explore economic, social, and academic ties between China and Central Asia through the lens of global and area studies.

In his opening remarks, Professor Li Jinchang, Party secretary of ZUFE, highlighted the university's efforts to build a new ecological system characterized by international openness and cooperation.

He emphasized the institution's mission to inform policy, consult businesses, and foster cross-cultural exchanges, particularly in support of the Belt and Road Initiative.

During the ceremony, ZUFE released the White Book on Investment and Business Environment in Central Asian Countries and presented Manuscript Philology of Dunhuang (Chinese and English versions) to representatives from four Central Asian universities. The book's author, Professor Zhang Yongquan, and chief translator, Professor Yu Muhong, personally handed over copies.

In a further step to deepen collaboration, ZUFE signed agreements with three Central Asian universities: Tulane University (Astana) in Kazakhstan, National University of Finance and Economics in Tajikistan, and the University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Silk Road in Uzbekistan. These agreements will strengthen cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation and scientific research, expanding ZUFE's academic partnerships in Central Asia.
