Intl tourists experience scenery, culture in Wenzhou

Nearly 100 tourists from the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, arrived in Wenzhou via the cruise ship Zhao Shang Yi Dun on Sept 23, immersing themselves in the picturesque scenery and local opera culture.
The Chinese-flagged luxury ocean liner Zhao Shang Yi Dun is the first inbound coastal cruise ship in China. The journey brought the second batch of international tourists to Wenzhou, marking Lucheng district's first large group of international visitors since the implementation of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy.
Jiangxin Islet boasts numerous scenic spots and historical relics and is referred to as a fairyland of the Oujiang River. Jiangxin Temple stands in the middle of two soaring pagodas on the islet, exuding an ancient charm.

At the Nanxi Opera Museum, the tourists experienced the richness of Chinese opera. Following a tour guide, they learned about the origins and development of Wenzhou's nanxi, an early form of Chinese opera, explored the rich variety of Ouju Opera masks, costumes, and musical instruments, and enjoyed professional performances of nanxi.
To enhance the tourist experience, Lucheng district upgraded the signage and guide systems at 171 locations, added English translations to promotional materials, and improved tour guide scripts, according to a representative from the culture, radio, television, tourism, and sports bureau of Lucheng district.
