The 26th Shanghai International Film Festival's Golden Goblet Awards ceremony for the Asian New Talent section took place on June 20, celebrating emerging filmmakers from across Asia.

This year, five films were honored with six prestigious awards. Among the winners was Zhang Xuyu, a young director from Wenzhou, Zhejiang. Zhang received the Best Screenplay Award for his self-written and directed film Fish Bone, which was primarily shot in Rui'an, a county-level city in Wenzhou.

The Asian New Talent Award, established in 2004 during the 7th Shanghai International Film Festival, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Over the past two decades, the award has continuously discovered and supported new directors from China and other Asian countries, fostering fresh talent and promoting diversity in Asian cinema.

This year's jury for the Asian New Talent section was chaired by Chinese director Cao Baoping, with members including Japanese director Shin Adachi, Mexican director Lila Aviles, Chinese director and actor Dong Chengpeng, Chinese actress Ni Ni, and Chinese producer Shen Yang.
