On the tranquility morning of June 9, clouds gently enveloped the picturesque Yangmei Mountain in Baipu village, Qingtian county, Lishui, Zhejiang Province. Here, a rich harvest of 2,700 kilograms of freshly-picked waxberries awaits an upcoming overseas voyage.

Xia Xiaoqing, general manager of Qingtian Zhongzhi Trading Co, highlighted that by 5:00 pm, these luscious berries would embark on their journey to Shanghai Pudong Airport, bound for Madrid, Spain.

From the early break of dawn's harvest to the meticulous sorting and packaging in the afternoon, culminating in a swift transit to the airport, these waxberries are poised to grace Madrid's markets within a mere 24 hours, ensuring their freshness and quality, according to Xia.

Having exported over 20 metric tons of waxberries in 2023, Zhongzhi Trading now sets its sights on broader horizons, venturing into new markets such as the UK, France, and Singapore with the finest waxberries from Qingtian.

Qingtian, esteemed as the "Hometown of Chinese Waxberries", boasts a cultivation area covering 112,000 mu (7,466.67 hectares), generating an annual value of 600 million yuan ($82.72 million).
