The Zhejiang Yuexiu University hosted a symposium on internationalization of higher education in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on April 27.

Renowned experts from more than 20 prestigious institutions worldwide, including Kean University in the United States and Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies in Japan, convened at the university's picturesque Jinghu Lake campus to explore the evolving dynamics of global education.

Zhejiang Yuexiu University President Xiu Gang set the tone for the symposium, underlining the march toward internationalization within higher education.

He underscored the university's commitment to fostering global educational cooperation and enhancing international communication capabilities. Notably, the university has made significant strides across various facets of internationalization, spanning mechanisms, cooperation resources, talent cultivation, faculty development, research collaboration, and international student education.

Professor Zhang Yuanlin from Kean University, provided invaluable insights into the comparative analysis of education systems between China and the US. He illuminated key differences, including resource allocation, institutional structures, grading methodologies, and emerging trends, offering profound implications for educational reform efforts in China.

Meanwhile, the representative from Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies elucidated Japan's strategic initiatives in international higher education, shedding light on their objectives for fostering multicultural coexistence and expanding international exchange programs.
