The opening ceremony of the Narrative China: National Invitational Exhibition of Narrative and Thematic Prints took place at the Zhejiang Art Museum on March 17, 2024.

The exhibition showcased over 300 representative works from more than 200 printmaking artists nationwide, tracing the history of Chinese modern printmaking developed over the course of more than 90 years.

According to the organizers, the exhibition is divided into five sections, focusing on the works of representative printmakers from 1930 to 2023.

Narrative and thematic printmaking tells stories through images and plots, reflecting social changes and historical developments, serving as a bridge connecting the past with the present, and tradition with innovation, said the organizers.

The exhibition will run until April 7 and will then travel to various other places nationwide, including Jiangxi province, Chongqing municipality, and Sichuan province.
