On Jan 22, the A3 Berth at Dushan Port in Pinghu, Jiaxing, Zhejiang was officially opened to foreign vessels, marking a significant step in meeting the growing demand for the transportation of imported raw materials for enterprises in the nearby petrochemical industrial park.

With several large chemical and new materials enterprises establishing operations in recent years, demand for the unloading and loading of liquid hazardous cargo at the port has surged.

The A3 Berth at Dushan Port specializes in the handling of liquid chemical products and oils, with a designed annual throughput capacity of 1.69 million metric tons. This year, the port's throughput is expected to reach 30-50 percent of its designed capacity.

Not only serving businesses within the petrochemical industrial park at Dushan Port, the A3 Berth is also set to provide more convenient services for polyester factories in the surrounding areas, especially in Xiaoshan and Shaoxing.

Dushan Port has opened up 12.6 kilometers of its port shoreline to foreign vessels. Since obtaining its international pass in 2016, the port has expanded its open berths to a total of 16. In the period from January to November last year, Dushan Port handled a total cargo throughput of 50.17 million tons, with container volume showing steady growth at 552,000 TEUs.
