Jiaxing textile companies reaped fruitful results at the recently concluded Heimtextil, one of the most prestigious events in the home textile industry in Frankfurt, Germany.

A total of 63 companies from Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing, secured over $40 million worth of orders over the course of the four-day fair.

"We received many new business cards and some orders on the spot. We will follow up with more orders after sending samples," stated Wu Jieyu, business manager of Haihong New Materials in Haining.

At the fair, Haihong New Materials showcased a full range of textile sofa fabrics, with a total of more than 200 products.

Wu added that woven products were in high demand and the company would develop more products based on market feedback.

Tongxiang, another county-level city in Jiaxing, also made a splash with its products. More than 50 companies from the city got over $50 million worth of orders.

"We definitely exceeded expectations! A new customer ordered three containers of products on the spot. I was busy rushing orders when I came back," expressed Zhang Linyan, the sales manager of Kashen Textile Co Ltd in Tongxiang.

The fair attracted more than 2,800 exhibitors from 60 countries, a 25 percent increase from the previous edition. The number of Chinese exhibitors doubled to over 800, and the exhibition area reached 15,000 square meters, the largest ever.
