A team of researchers from Wuzhen Laboratory, led by Professor Shen Yang from Tsinghua University, won the gold award at the 75th International Invention Exhibition (iENA) in Nuremberg, Germany, for their project on nanocomposite materials.

The project developed a new method to prepare composite dielectric films with high dielectric constant and strength, breaking the energy density and heat resistance limits of film capacitors.

The project used polymer-based composite materials and modulated their topological structure to achieve multiscale regulation. This was the first research project in the world to produce high-temperature-resistant and high-energy-density composite dielectric films and film capacitors, which are superior to existing BOPP capacitors in terms of capacity-volume ratio and high-temperature resistance.

The project was applied to new energy vehicles, improving their performance and efficiency. It also has potential applications in smart grids, pulse power supply, and other fields, with high market value.

The iENA was founded in 1948 and is the world's oldest and most influential invention exhibition. So far, more than 30,000 inventions have been publicized through the exhibition.

This year's exhibition gathered more than 500 invention patent technologies from various countries, involving industries such as medicine, aviation, environmental protection, machinery, construction and power.
