Nations along the Lancang-Mekong River forge Association in Wenzhou
In the spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative's tenth anniversary, the inaugural conference of the Lancang-Mekong Countries Entrepreneurship Education Association and the 2023 Lancang-Mekong Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Forum took place from Oct 19 to 21 at the Wenzhou University of Technology.
Over 200 distinguished delegates, including leading guests, academics, and industry experts from China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam gathered to explore cultural exchange, educational collaboration, and the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Lancang and Mekong regions, with shared traditions and historical connections, have been the cradle of civilizations for centuries, exemplifying the success of regional cooperation.
Inspired by the BRI, the association's formation and future development aim to enhance high-level collaboration in education, youth innovation and integrated entrepreneurship.
To support student-led innovation and entrepreneurship, four businesses initiated the Lancang-Mekong innovation and entrepreneurship investment fund during the forum.
The event attracted education representatives, with experts and university leaders from the six countries discussing strategies for nurturing talent, offering a promising start to international higher education cooperation.
In all, the forum has provided intellectual support for practical cooperation across various fields.
To further strengthen ties, Wenzhou University of Technology signed an academic cooperation framework agreement with Vietnam's Lac Hong University during the event.
