The largest cultural complex in East China’s Zhejiang province- the Zhijiang Cultural Center - officially opened to the public on Aug 29. 

Comprising the Zhejiang Library, Zhejiang Provincial Museum, Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, Zhejiang Literature Museum, and Public Service Center, it stands as the largest modern integrated cultural complex in Zhejiang, encompassing nature, humanity, art, and ecology.

The Zhejiang Library covers an area of approximately 85,000 square meters and offers a variety of reading spaces that blend traditional and modern elements.

The Zhejiang Provincial Museum is the largest venue at the cultural center and serves as a modern public cultural space that integrates collection, preservation, research, exhibition, promotion, education, and cultural experiences. The museum includes a special area for the technical conservation of artifacts, equipped with nearly 40 labs, restoration rooms, and dedicated facilities for the preliminary treatment and freeze-drying of large unearthed artifacts.

The Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum is the country's first large regional comprehensive intangible heritage museum, presenting a complete picture of Zhejiang's intangible cultural heritage ecosystem. The museum houses 64 precious works donated by 47 national-level intangible heritage representative inheritors and Chinese arts and crafts experts in Zhejiang.

The Zhejiang Literature Museum has an exhibition area of 7,002 square meters and features nine exhibition halls, including six main halls and three temporary exhibition halls.

The Zhejiang Provincial Museum's Zhijiang Branch and the Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum have already opened reservation channels, the Zhejiang Library's Zhijiang Branch will open for reservations soon, and the Zhejiang Literature Museum has not yet opened for reservations.

The construction of the Zhijiang Cultural Center began on Feb 28, 2019.
